Cuizy Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Cuizy ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Cuizy generates personalized weekly meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists based on preferences you provide (grocery store, budget, cooking skill, time available, household size, the meals you want planned, allergies, dietary restrictions, appliances, and food preferences). Recipe and meal plan content is generated using artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude API) based on your inputs.

Cuizy plans dinner every day. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are optional and are included only when you select them in your preferences; each plan covers the meals it was generated for. Nutrition targets and any comparison with takeout apply to dinners only.

Grocery price estimates are based on a manually curated, periodically updated price reference table for select Montreal-area grocery stores, and are estimates only. Actual prices at any store may vary from what Cuizy displays.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Cuizy.

4. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information, including accurate dietary restrictions and allergy information, as Cuizy relies on this information to generate suitable meal plans.

5. Subscription & Billing

Planning weekly meals with Cuizy requires a paid subscription, which new subscribers may begin with a free trial (below). Without a subscription you can still sign in, view the plans, grocery lists and recipes already in your account, and save, cook and download your own recipes. Accounts created before October 11, 2026 keep the former free allowance of one generated meal plan per calendar month until November 1, 2026.
Free trial. If you have never subscribed to Cuizy, you may start a 7-day free trial of the paid tier when you choose a subscription plan. A payment method is required to start it (your card on the website, or your Apple account in the iOS app). Before you start, we show the plan, its price, the date of the first charge and how to cancel.
The trial becomes a paid subscription automatically. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan you chose starts at the end of the trial: you are charged its price plus applicable taxes on that date, and it then renews automatically until cancelled. We email you a written reminder between 2 and 10 days before the trial ends, stating the end date and the price that will then apply. On the website you can cancel at any time from your subscription page; in the iOS app, cancel in your App Store subscription settings at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, you are not charged. One free trial per person; Apple also limits its trial to one per Apple account.
Accounts created before October 10, 2026 received a 7-day trial that required no payment method and did not convert into a paid subscription; any such trial still running ends on its original date, after which the rules above apply.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly ($5.99 CAD), every three months ($14.99 CAD), or annually ($49.99 CAD), auto-renewing until cancelled.
Prices are shown before tax. Applicable sales taxes (GST/HST and, for Quebec customers, QST) are added at checkout based on your billing address and shown before you pay.
Payment on the website is processed by Stripe. Cuizy does not store your full payment card information.
Subscriptions bought in the Cuizy iOS app are billed by Apple through the App Store, at the price and with the taxes shown there. They are managed and cancelled in your App Store subscription settings, and refunds for them are handled by Apple.
No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. If you cancel, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period, after which your subscription will not renew.
Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: attempt to bypass rate limits or usage caps; use automated tools to create multiple accounts or abuse the free trial; attempt to access other users' data; interfere with the Service's operation or security; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Important Disclaimer: Dietary Restrictions and Allergies

Cuizy uses AI-generated content combined with an automated safety-checking layer designed to avoid suggesting ingredients that conflict with the allergies and dietary restrictions you provide. However, Cuizy is not a substitute for your own judgment, especially regarding severe or life-threatening allergies. You are responsible for reviewing every recipe and ingredient list before shopping for or preparing any meal, and for consulting a medical professional regarding any serious dietary or allergy condition. Cuizy and its operator are not liable for any adverse reaction, illness, or harm resulting from reliance on generated meal plans or recipes.

8. Intellectual Property

Cuizy's branding, design, and underlying software are the property of Cuizy's operator. Recipes and meal plans generated for your account are provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

Recipes you add yourself or import from a link come from sources you choose and stay private to your account, for your personal, non-commercial use. Their content belongs to its owners. Cuizy does not test imported or personal recipes or check them against your allergies and dietary restrictions; review them before cooking.

9. Third-Party Services

Cuizy relies on the following third-party services to operate, each with their own terms and privacy practices: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI-generated recipe content), Cloudflare (bot/security protection), and Resend (transactional email delivery).

The grocery list may also offer links to grocers' own online stores and to third-party delivery services (such as Instacart). These links are provided as a convenience only. Cuizy is not a party to any order you place there, and the grocer's or delivery service's own prices, fees, availability and terms apply.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy of pricing estimates, nutritional information, or recipe suitability. Cuizy does not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cuizy's operator's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid Cuizy in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Cuizy's operator may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.

14. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
